Yue Shen

Yue Shen (shenyue@genomics.cn) currently serves as the Chief Scientist of Synthetic Biology in BGI-Research, Associate Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Genome Read and Write, PI of Shenzhen Synthetic Biology Innovation Institute and Visiting Professor of Center for Synthetic Genomics at SIAT, CAS. She obtained B.S in Bioengineering from South China University of Technology, and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Univerisy of Melbourne and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from University of Edinburgh.
With her research interests lie in synthetic genomics and developing synthetic biology technologies, she has published over 20 papers in prestigious journals including Science, Genome Research and was selected as one of the Top Ten Scientific Advances of China in 2017. She is one of the key members in synthetic yeast consortium (Sc2.0). She was awarded the Shenzhen National Leading Talents (2017), the Top Young Talents in Science and Technology Innovation of Guangdong special support program (2019) and the Youth Science and Technology Award of Shenzhen (2021).
